Westside Connection Claims second grand championship of the season

Posted on February 11, 2019 Westside Connection competed Friday, Febraury 8, in the Crystal Cup hosted by Elkhorn South High School. They received awards for Best Vocals, Best Choreography, and was named Grand Champions earning them their second grand championship of the season. Way to go warriors!

What’s Happening in 7th grade Science

Posted on January 31, 2019 In Mrs. Martin’s 7th grade Science class, students are discovering how limiting factors affect ecosystems. Owls (rings) are hunting mice (kidney beans) in 3 different ecological scenarios.


Author Visits WMS

Posted January 25, 2019 John Beecham, author of Saving Emily Dickinson, visited WMS after school on Monday to read from his novel and answer students’ questions about writing and publishing books for young adults.  Thanks, Mr. Beecham!

WMS Student was Guest Poet at “Living the Dream” music, poetry, and dance competition

Posted January 23, 2019 On January 21 at The Holland Performing Arts Center, five Westside High School students competed in the first “Living the Dream” music, poetry, and dance competition. They were all amazing and represented our district well. Julia Wuestewald, our world-class eighth-grade poet, entered the competition but was disallowed for being too young. However, the organizers felt her poem was too good to be left out, so they made Jules the guest poet.…
