Genius Time Spotlight

Posted October 25, 2018 More LEGO fun! Students in the Lego Genius Group are working on creating some custom Lego are for Westside. Seniors from Mrs. Kleppinger’s Business class at WHS shared ideas with Ms. Schaben’s “Own Your Own Business” Genius Time this week. WMS Student Finishes 1st place at Poetry Slam

Julia Wuestewald finished in first place in the Lettuce Turnip Beet poetry slam at the B-Side in Benson. She competed as the only middle school student in a pool with six high school poets. Julia is at minutes 3:55 and 31:20.

Genius Time Spotlight

Posted October 18, 2018 Students in Mrs. Johnson’s Graphic Novels Genius Group are working hard to create their own graphic novels. They are creating presentations related to their chosen culture and will also be presenting a focused project. Mrs. Shabram’s Genius Time got to video chat with a software developer. They learned a lot about the skills need to have a career in software development. Students are also working on programming their own apps.

Wake Me Up Before You Go Go Cart at WMS

Posted October 10, 2018 The students in Katie Summer’s Assisted Learning classroom have created a coffee cart. The carts name is, “Wake Me Up Before You Go Go.” Staff at WMS can purchase a nice warm cup of coffee for $0.50 on Monday’s, Tuesday’s, and Friday’s.

WMS Genius Time Spotlight

Posted October 4, 2018 The Dog Training Genius group had a visitor today from the Good Karma Dog Center. Isabella taught the kids about positive reinforcement dog training and gave them tips general dog care.   Students in the Outdoor Survival Genius Group have been working on building shelters.
